Our eye examination starts with a registration process, followed by a pre-screen, where we use an autorefractor to get an estimate of your prescription to help free up time for other parts of the eye examination.
If you are over 35 years of age, we also take your intraocular pressures – these are important to rule out potentially blinding conditions such as glaucoma.
After this, our experienced optometrists will run through a detailed history, followed by a refinement of your optical power to ensure that any lenses we give you will work well with your visual system.
We then follow this up with an assessment of the health of your eyes –assessing the different structures such as the cornea, the crystalline lens, the vitreous humour and the posterior pole of your retina to ensure that your eyes are free of diseases that even you may not be aware of.
We then make our recommendations, which may range from your not needing a change in your spectacles, not needing spectacles, or needing a change of spectacles, or requiring further assessment for the health of your eyes by an ophthalmologist. Our contact lens check-ups are just as detailed.
If you try our eye examinations, you will agree that we do a more detailed assessment than most practices in Kenya. The difference from here should be clear!
